Hummingbird: Time and Space Spy
About This Novel
A bronze hummingbird brooch with a strange blue light split the consciousness of Chen Letian, an entrepreneur in 2024, into the purgatory of Jiangcheng in 1937 - when the Japanese army's butcher knife was hanging from the ceiling, his counter-attack using modern fighting skills not only failed to gain life, but was dragged into a deeper whirlpool by the pseudo-police captain. He thought that "surviving by disguising his identity" was his only goal, but he bumped into the mysterious lady Shen Nanyi in a restaurant using jewelry to deliver a secret message. In a tea shop, Lao Tang's words "There's something wrong with your tea" broke his sense of foreignness. When the three teamed up under the name "Hummingbird", used probabilistic deciphering methods to decipher codes, and used logistics rules to set up contact points, Chen Letian did not realize that the brooch he traveled through was exactly the same as the token of the "missing informant" in the Japanese military files. The spy code-named "Nightingale" exposed comrades one after another. Lao Tang was forced to be a Japanese informant in the past, Shen Nanyi's classmate relationship with the Japanese military section chief Takeshita surfaced, and the "2024" that Chen Letian shouted when he was in a coma has been blacklisted by the special high school class. On the eve of the final mission, before the film of the three people's photo was developed, Old Tang rushed towards the Japanese army with a grenade in hand. When Shen Nanyi thrust the strategic document into his hand, there was still poisonous blood foam on the corner of his mouth. In the 1990s, Chen Letian (pseudonym Li Jianhua) was fondling a group photo in an album, and suddenly found a line of faded writing on the back of the photo: "Hummingbird is never a code name, it is the anchor that ties you here." Is this the last words of a comrade in arms or a curse of time travel? The brooch that brought him here was currently hidden deep in the drawer, its blue light flickering on and off, as if responding to some unspoken conspiracy.
