Organic Law of Urban Residents' Committees of the People's Republic of China

The Organic Law of Urban Residents' Committees is a law formulated in accordance with the Constitution to strengthen the construction of urban residents' committees, allowing urban residents to handle their own affairs in accordance with the law, and to promote the development of urban grassroots socialist democracy and urban socialist material and spiritual civilization construction. On December 29, 2018, the seventh meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress voted to amend the Organic Law of Urban Residents' Committees. Each term of a residents' committee is five years, and its members can be re-elected for re-election.
