About This Novel

"Sense and Sensibility" is Jane Austen's first novel. It is no exaggeration to say that although it is Jane Austen's first novel, it is full of Jane Austen-style characteristics. These Austenian characteristics were fully developed in several of her later novels. It is these characteristics that make readers love her so much. All her novels outline the daily life of British women in the 19th century. Through the novel, readers can have a considerable understanding of the various court rulings at that time, and most of the cases were related to the relationship between men and women. Some readers have concluded that British society today is almost the same as British society in the 19th century. In addition, all her novels emphasize the importance of family life. After reading "Sense and Sensibility", a careful literary critic discovered that the deep relationship between Jane Austen and her beloved sister Cassandra in life was the spiritual source that inspired her to write the novel.
