I Met That Boy
by Jian Man
About This Novel
The guestbook in a B&B lays out the youth's leisurely high school years. Those deleted or changed youths, like memory bookmarks sandwiched in textbooks, mark every "encounter" between a girl and a boy - when he first met the boy, he arrogantly asked for her name, declaring to the world that her "ownership of youth" belonged to him; when they met for the second time, the autumn wind blew up his bulging school uniform jacket, and the boy wantonly Laughing, like a child mixed into the adult world, simple, fearless, and confident; when they met for the third time, he walked towards her with a story, and she gave him the evening wind, the morning starry sky, and the healing violin music in return; the last time they met, everything was in time, but it seemed too late, and the joy that was as light as the breeze became the unspeakable secret of youth... Maybe the sunshine at the age of seventeen was always just right, making them warm. Looking back now, no matter how regretful, reluctant or missing they are, they cannot compare to the moment when they regained their youth. The corners of their mouths turned up unconsciously.
