About This Novel
Climbing a mountain is to use your body to feel the greatness of nature, and to feel the sublimation of your own personality and will. With such a process, it makes sense to climb higher. I wrote "The Climber" to write about spirit and why Chinese people must climb Mount Everest. I was writing about mountain climbing in the 1960s and 1970s. It was the first time since ancient times that we treated our mountains and rivers in a scientific way. At that time, the country was in extremely difficult times, and most Chinese people did not have enough to eat. Under such circumstances, climbing Mount Everest was almost impossible. This is what sparked my personal interest... The will of people and the power of the country made this impossible finally possible, which demonstrated the spirit of heroism.
