About This Novel
In an apartment, police found two bodies. One of the deceased was the owner of the apartment, Du Binyong, who was poisoned to death; the other deceased was named Tao Ya, who was stabbed through the heart with a knife and died. The police quickly discovered the connection between the two people. Du Binyong was once a neighbor of Tao Ya's family. About a year ago, he started blackmailing Tao Ya. The police found several nude photos of Tao Ya at the crime scene, and found through mobile phone call records that Tao Ya had called the police at the time of the crime to report that someone was blackmailing her. At this point, the reason for the extortion has come to light. During the investigation, Interpol Gu Shiyin discovered that the daughter of the deceased Tao Ya was her good friend Wu Ruoxue in high school. Wu Ruoxue has been troubled by a problem since she was a child, that is, she has no memory of her childhood. Since the police did not identify a suspect in the case, and the crime scene was a secret room, there were no traces of a third party. Interpol Zhang Yang speculated that Tao Ya and Du Binyong had a dispute when they were discussing buying out the photos. Because Tao Ya called the police, Du Binyong was very frightened and accidentally stabbed Tao Ya to death with a knife. Afterwards, Du Binyong knew that he had no way to escape, so he chose to commit suicide by taking poison. This inference is recognized by most police officers. However, as the investigation deepened, the conclusion of the case went in the completely opposite direction. At the same time, there is an unknown secret hidden behind this case...
