About This Novel
In the autumn of their sophomore year in high school, Lin Zhi and Shen Ji became roommates. Lin Zhi is responsible for "Sunshine" and helps Shen Jing copy notes, prepare meals, and respond to the teacher's roll call every day; Shen Jing is responsible for "Silence" and occasionally hands Shen Zhi a bottle of warm milk when she has a stomachache. They agreed to go to a university in Beijing together-Lin Zhi wanted to study Chinese at Peking University. Shen An didn't say where he wanted to go, but just nodded. In the last semester of my senior year of high school, the silence suddenly disappeared. No goodbyes, no explanations, just an empty desk. Lin Zhi was admitted to Peking University and saw Shen Ji's name on the list of freshmen - Department of Architecture. During the four years of college, they passed each other countless times on campus, but Shen Shen always felt as if he didn't know her. Until the day of graduation, Lin Zhi was stopped at the door of the library. Shen Ji stood there and spoke completely for the first time: "Lin Zhi, can I explain?"
