This book is a biographical novel that focuses on the life of Xiao He. Together with Zhang Liang and Han Xin, he is known as the "Three Heroes of the Early Han Dynasty". He assisted Liu Bang, the emperor of the Han Dynasty, to win the conflict between Chu and Han and established the Han Dynasty. With his outstanding wisdom, he ended the civil disputes after the end of the Qin Dynasty and achieved the unification of the country. Xiao He was better at guarding the rear and managing the ministers. After assuming the post of Prime Minister of the Han Dynasty, he adopted the six laws of the Qin Dynasty, formulated and implemented the "Nine Chapters", advocated governance by doing nothing, and promulgated many decrees that benefited the country and the people. As a result, the early Han Dynasty was governed and the people of the world gradually recuperated. In his later years, he assisted Liu Bang in killing Han Xin, Ying Bu and other princes and kings with different surnames, and also built the new capital city of Chang'an, which means "long-lasting peace and stability". After Liu Bang died, he assisted Han Hui Emperor Liu Ying to ascend the throne with the help of Lu Fei's kindness and power. Finally, after completing his dedicated life, he was buried in Xianyang County, Yongzhou.
