About This Novel
Yan Lianke, born in 1958 in Song County, Luoyang, Henan, is a famous Chinese writer and is known as the "master of absurd realism". He is currently a professor at the School of Liberal Arts at Renmin University of China. The works have been translated into more than twenty languages. His representative works include "Fleeting Time in the Sun", "Shouhuo", "Dream of Dingzhuang", "Ode to Fengya", "Four Books", "Explosion", etc. The 3rd Lao She Literary Award, the 2013 Hua Zong World Chinese Literature Award, the 2013 Cultural Task Impact, the 2014 Kafka Literary Award, the 2015 Booker Prize nomination, the 2016 Booker Prize nomination, the 2016 Nobel Prize nomination for literature. "Shouhuo" is the only award-winning novel in the 3rd Lao She Literary Award for Outstanding Novel, and ranked first among novels in the 2003 Chinese Novel Ranking.
