This book is a novel written by Norwegian novelist Alan Lew. The book tells the story of the protagonist Lu and a group of his friends who felt that they had not made much contribution to Norway. They wanted to make up for this, so they decided to go on an adventure. The purpose of the adventure was to prove one of Lu's absurd theories: He believed that the residents of the Pacific islands were South Americans long ago, and that the first batch of island immigrants skated across the South American continent when the Pacific Ocean froze. They felt that by proving this theory they could put Norway back on the world map and become a national hero. The second half of the book amounts to a journal of their adventures on a small island in the Pacific Ocean called the Cook Islands. This book continues Lu's method of writing novels as documentary literature among young people. The book provides a large amount of evidence, including photos of himself and his friends on the expedition, and even a scanned copy of a reply letter from the king's secretary, to "prove" that what he wrote is true.
