About This Novel

One weekend night in 2022, in an apartment in the East Side of Manhattan, New York, the Super Bowl was playing on the TV. Retired physics professor Diana, her husband Max and student Martin are waiting for Jim and his wife to visit. The flight made an emergency landing, the apocalypse was about to break out, and there was silence all around. Conversations in the apartment ranged from astronomical telescopes in north-central Chile to bourbon brands to Einstein's 1912 manuscript on the theory of relativity. In the scenes of Beckett-like monologues, the deepest fears of human civilization are closely followed. Under the silence, the fate of mankind has long been irreversible.
