In January 1981, "People's Daily" published a commemorative article signed by Xu Boxin and Ge Zhicheng, calling Wang Shaochao a democratic fighter and an old Communist Party member. Subsequently, it was reported that with the approval of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the party group of the Central Ministry of Finance held a ceremony for Wang Shaochao to cover the urn with the party flag. Those relatives and friends who were familiar with Wang Shaochao were respectful and a little surprised.
