Mick Herron, born in Newcastle, England in 1963, is a master of British spy novels and a famous writer of suspense novels. He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford's oldest and most prestigious college, with a BA in English. Represented as the "Flower" series. The series has been hailed as the best series of spy novels of the millennium. Herron won the 2013 British Crime Writers Association Golden Dagger Award for "Dead Lion", the second book in the "Fugitive" series. He is hailed as the successor of John le Carré and the king of spy novels in the new era. The New York Times, The Sunday Times and other media praised him as the most outstanding living suspense novel writer in the UK. In 2025, Herron received the Diamond Dagger Award, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the British Crime Writers Association, in recognition of his outstanding contribution and continued success in this field.
