About This Novel

Lovecraft expert Donald R. Burleson called the story "one of his stylistically and conceptually finest short stories." He extends terror into the universe. The film of the same name starring Oscar winner Nicolas Cage premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2019 and will be released in the United States in January 2020. The story begins with an unknown surveyor from Boston, told from the first-person perspective. The surveyor came to Arkham to conduct surveys to help build a local reservoir. Later, through the narration of the locals, he gradually uncovered a dusty history and terrible secrets - about a place called the "Blighted Wasteland" that was avoided by the locals in Arkham. The locals are tight-lipped about the so-called "blighted wasteland". So the surveyor couldn't get any information from the townspeople, but he did learn that a man named Old Ami Pierce knew the details. So the surveyor found an Ami Pierce - he looked exactly like the local residents said, a crazy-looking old man. After hard work, old Ami Pierce told the surveyor a personal experience and the story of the farmer Gardner family who once lived on the cursed land. Ami claimed that it all started when a meteorite fell on the Gardner property in June 1882. But then, the color it brought not only took away the lives of the Gardner family, but also gradually caused nature to take on otherworldly and otherworldly tones. Under its influence, all bright and beautiful things became mutated, corrupted, turned gray and brittle, until they disappeared.

The arrival of the meteorite broke people's peaceful life and brought a color that could not be named but could be felt, so it was named Star Color.

Highly recommended

One of the biggest characteristics of Cthulhu is, as his founder Lovecraft said, "Humanity's greatest fear, the oldest fear, is the fear of the unknown." The article uses many adjectives to describe the changes in the scene, the changes in the shape of objects and the changes in people's psychology. With the addition of the reader's imagination, it can be said that it is immersive. As mentioned above, these unexpected "unknowns" that go beyond people's common sense are where the real fear lies. Not to mention, I remember there is a movie about this, I want to watch it.

The Color of Stars is something that is intangible and invisible, but its existence can be clearly felt. This is the disaster caused by a meteorite.

When the new reservoir was surveyed, people said the place was a place of evil. People tell this in Arkham because it's an old town full of witch legends.
