Evil Nature
About This Novel
The masterpiece of "the most mysterious American writer" postmodernist master Thomas Pynchon is half black and half psychedelic joke. It is a masterpiece together with "Gravity's Rainbow" and "Auction Lot 49". The film adaptation of the same name was nominated for the 87th Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and the 86th National Board of Review Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. It seems like forever ago that Los Angeles private detective Doc last saw his ex-girlfriend Shasta. Suddenly, she appeared in front of him, bringing with her an unsupportable story, a bizarre kidnapping case, in which the victim-her current lover-was a real estate developer "with a fortune of hundreds of millions of dollars." Doc knew that "love" was a vague word that could cause a lot of trouble at any time, but he still accidentally bumped into Shasta's story, and the story became deeper and deeper. People of all kinds appeared in front of him, including surfers, pimps, drug dealers, rock musicians, loan sharks who committed murders, etc.
