About This Novel

This book contains two novellas: "Father Goes to Town" and "Father's Later Life". The son got a house and a car in Shanghai, took his wife and settled down, and began to take his father to the city to celebrate the New Year. My father has been living in the remote Tarping. There are no telephones or any electrical appliances in the village. All food and supplies are self-sufficient. Basically, we are still in a primitive society. My father is illiterate and cannot speak Mandarin. He is also deaf and has lost his teeth.
