In the past few days, Xu Xiaoji was resting and traveling with Broad Bean during the day in order not to frighten the fetus in her belly. Xu Xiaoji and Gan Dou each carried a toad in their hands. As soon as they crossed the bridge, someone reported that the county government had arrived at Hongjiabaozi with a car carrying corpses. Xu Xiaoji asked in surprise: "Who died?" The person who reported the news said: "It's Hong Rakezi." Xu Xiaoji asked even more surprised: "Isn't Rakezi with Huaide? What about Huaide? How did Rakezi die?"
