About This Novel
"33 Revolutions" is a collection of short stories and short stories written by Canek Sanchez Guevara, the grandson of the legendary Cuban revolutionary leader Che Guevara, including 9 works. The novel is set in post-revolutionary Cuba and compares society to a skipping record that plays continuously at thirty-three revolutions per minute. People face material and spiritual difficulties day after day. The novel has various styles and is full of experimentation, showing all kinds of living things in Cuban society: ordinary employees, drug dealers, pimps, bloodthirsty artists, opportunists, rock and roll youths... They wander on the boundary between reality and nothingness, or endure silently, or struggle hard, recreating the era when revolutionary passion and ideal loss are intertwined.
