The story takes place in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. The fathers of the protagonists Beidou and Qixing brothers joined the Tongmenghui after the failure of the Reform Movement of 1898 in order to overthrow the Manchu Empire. He was assassinated just after returning from Japan. The two infant brothers were taken in by people from thousands of families in the world, and they practiced literature and martial arts since they were young. His younger brother Qixing even entered a foreign school, and later was admitted to the Whampoa Military Academy and participated in the revolution. His elder brother, Beidou, inherited the leadership of Qianmen, and later launched an arduous struggle under the leadership of the party. Beidou lurks beside the enemy and resolves many crises. The story begins in 1905 until liberation in 1949. Experienced the Northern Expedition and the Anti-Japanese War in the late Manchu and early Republic of China. The novel is based on real history, and the stories are interlocking, exciting, logically clear, and fascinating.
