About This Novel
"The Resurrection Man" is a social science fiction novel. The protagonist Qin Chaoyang voluntarily accompanied his terminally ill wife Mu Xueye into hibernation. He originally hoped to wake up after 200 years, but due to drastic changes in the world structure, his recovery was delayed until 507 years. The new world is perfect and indifferent. Human beings have no private property and no personal relationships. They have no relatives, friends, or enemies. Therefore, the motivation for crime is fundamentally eliminated. The development of science and technology and medical treatment has made human genes and thoughts highly optimized and unified. Hundreds of thousands of hibernators who were resurrected based on the contract became carriers of decadent thoughts and despicable habits in the eyes of modern people, and were therefore isolated in the Hoaven (Paradise) area. After recovering, Qin Chaoyang was told that his wife had passed away. In the 26th century, all "private relationships" including love, family affection, and friendship were prohibited. Even the memory of the deceased was defined as "disorder of mind." However, in the process of adapting to the new era, Qin Chaoyang discovered various clues that led him to believe that his wife was still alive, so he launched a series of secret explorations. During this period, Qin Chaoyang met several other legendary resuscitators - Chris, a dwarf who hibernated in the late 21st century; Johnny, an energy tycoon who hibernated in the 22nd century; movie star Manji and best-selling author Takeda who hibernated in the 23rd century; Freden, a robot designer who was sentenced to a term of hibernation in the 25th century; and General Portman, a politician who once liberated mankind. Several people who hibernated in different eras woke up at the same time in the 26th century, and jointly uncovered the huge conspiracy of the new era, and also discovered the subtle connections between them.
