Freeman Mills was sent to Wendover, an institution dedicated to fostering troubled children. This was supposed to be a new beginning in his life. But second chances in life are not that simple. During the Trauma Childhood Victim Experiment, he discovered that he could read the minds of others. In the days that followed at Wendover, Freeman and the other children were forced to undergo more secret experimental projects, all of which were operated by a mysterious organization called "The Trust". However, these experiments bring more than just potential. Wendover was formerly a mental hospital, and the electromagnetic field in the experiment summoned the ghosts of past patients. Then a new scientist was recruited to the project team. This man was irritable and cruel, but he was a top figure in the field of ESP, and most of his research focused on one subject: his son, Freeman Mills.
