About This Novel
"Emotional Pointer" is Ikegami's first full-length science fiction novel. In a future where technology has developed to an advanced level, a mass suicide event called the "Cataclysm" occurred, and Lemi founded the country of Gibeon. In order to prevent the negative emotions of human beings from making civilization repeat the same mistakes, Gibeon abolished the family, the most basic unit of social life, and ensured the absolute stability of human emotions by implanting emotional pointers. Lao Yu works for Gibeon's secret department "Hai Kuan", responsible for cleaning up the emotional garbage left on social media in the past. With the disappearance of the department veteran Song Minglang, his stable life begins to change.
