About This Novel
Alai, male, Tibetan, born in Markang County, Sichuan Province in 1959, is a famous contemporary writer, the youngest winner in the history of the Mao Dun Literature Award, a representative of the National People's Congress, chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Writers Association, and a member of the Presidium of the Eighth National Committee of the Chinese Writers Association. In 2000, Alai, who was only 41 years old, won the fifth Mao Dun Literary Award for his novel "The Dust Has Settled", becoming the youngest winner in the history of the Mao Dun Literary Award. The judges believe that this novel has a unique perspective and "has rich Tibetan cultural implications. A light layer of magical color enhances the opening and closing of the artistic expression", and the language is "light and charming", "full of smart poetry", and "shows the author's outstanding artistic talent". The famous military writer Liu Jianwei even said with certainty that Alai will win the Nobel Prize for Literature for this book.
