About This Novel
"The Outsider": The protagonist Meursault is cold by nature and indifferent to everything, even the death of his mother. Later, Meursault was sentenced to death for accidentally shooting an Arab, but he still didn't care. Instead, the interrogator insisted that he was a ruthless devil who deliberately killed people because he did not shed tears at his mother's funeral, and did not investigate the case itself at all. Meursault has always looked at the world like an outsider, and was eventually forced to destruction by society. "Disqualification in the World": It is an autobiographical novel. The preface and appendix are narrated in the author's voice, and the three letters are narrated in the voice of the protagonist Ye Zang. The protagonist Ye Zang is cowardly and timid, afraid to face all the emotions in the world, and does not understand the complex inner world of human beings. He hides his true self by making others happy, uses drinking to have fun to escape the world, and ultimately leads to destruction. This kind of confusion runs through the youth of the author and everyone; he is tortured by pain and confusion, and he spends his life seeking love and avoiding love due to self-weariness. To be disqualified in the human world means to have lost the qualifications to be a human being. Through the experience of the novel's protagonist Ye Zang, Dazai Osamu expressed the real pain in his life. This work is considered an autobiographical novel. In the same year of its publication, Osamu Dazai drowned and died. "The Plague": is one of Camus's most influential and socially significant works. A plague broke out in the North African city of Oran. The protagonist Dr. Rieux stepped forward to rescue the patients at the critical moment and led a large number of people to rise up against the terrible plague, which finally brought the epidemic under control. In a very calm tone, Camus praised the true brave men who faced the bleak situation, and expressed his infinite desire and passion for life. "Chun Qin Chao": Chun Qin looks like an immortal and has superhuman piano skills, but he has been blind since childhood. This made Chunqin become arrogant and irritable, and she was even more harsh on her servants. Only the cautious Sasuke can satisfy Chunqin. Sasuke worshiped Shunqin as his teacher. No matter how Shunqin beat or scolded him, he always treated him with respect. Sasuke became Chunqin's only trusted servant, and even private matters such as bathing were left to him. As time goes by, there seems to be an unspeakable ambiguity between Chunqin and Sasuke. Chunqin's arrogance offended many people, and one night, she was disfigured with hot water. Chunqin didn't want others to see the scars on her face. For Chunqin, Sasuke blinded himself with needles. "One Million Pounds": This book includes thirteen representative short stories and short stories by Mark Twain, among which "One Million Pounds" is Mark Twain's most popular novel. It tells the wonderful experience of the protagonist who has nothing but money under the influence of money. Penniless Henry Adams came to London and unexpectedly received a huge one million pound note. This banknote brought him great fame, allowed him to move freely in London society, successfully entered the upper class, and won the heart of his beloved girl. The author uses humorous techniques to vividly depict a caricature of the world, exposes the ugly essence of money worship in American capitalist society at the end of the 19th century, and criticizes the corrosion of money on human nature. In this novel, Mark Twain used an exaggerated technique to vividly depict the ugliness of little people worshiping money; other articles include "The Man Who Corrupted Hedleyburg", "The Inheritance of Thirty Thousand Dollars", "The Diary of Eve", "A Dog's Narrative", "The Story of a Californian", etc.
