About This Novel
Maupassant was a master of French literature in the second half of the 19th century. With more than 340 works of creation and superb artistic attainments, he was recognized by readers around the world as the "King of Short Stories". Together with the American short story master O. Henry and the Russian short story master Chekhov, he was also known as one of the "three major short story writers in the world". The essence of this book contains 25 classic masterpieces of Maupassant's short stories, including all famous masterpieces. It is divided into five chapters: the Franco-Prussian War, the tragedy and joy of staff, rural anecdotes, love and lust, and weird stories. When I read this article, I not only felt that this great writer loved his works very much. He regarded his writing as a part of his life. He could write dead things into living things in such a vivid way that it attached his life. It also made me see his bravery, fearlessness, strength, persistence, and love while reading the novel. It made me very excited to read it, and made me fascinated by him.
