Street of Crocodiles: the Complete Novels of Bruno Schulz
by K
About This Novel
European literary geniuses comparable to Kafka and Proust, great works praised by Sontag, Milosz, Coetzee and others, directly translated from the original Polish text, presented in full in Simplified Chinese for the first time! This book collects all the surviving fictional works of Runo Schulz: 32 independent but interconnected stories. In these works, Schulz describes unusual childhood memories with a high degree of originality, blending reality and fantasy with beautiful language and full of whimsy. Like Kafka, he used a lot of grotesque surrealist techniques to create one of the most frightening father figures in the history of literature, which is still shocking to read today.

The two immortals and Buddhas have not yet come together, and they only know that they are not peaceful alone in the night. The wind canopies are filled with sad songs and weeping, and the mud wadding brings bad luck. Nine out of ten people are worth looking down upon, and one is useless as a scholar. Don't worry about the poems and turn them into prophecies. The spring birds and autumn insects make their own noises.
666 Gan Zhen, everyone, be nice, be nice, be a little bit more, be a little bit smaller with them

I finally finished reading it. The book is full of magical imagination. Sometimes it's really unclear and gives people a feeling of depression and tension! Schulz is a different kind of writer!
