About This Novel

In 1985, he published his first novel "Plain Clothes Police" and adapted it into a TV series for the first time. In 1994, he created "Never Close Eyes" and won the second China Population Culture Award. In 2000, he began to attract attention due to the TV adaptation of "Never Rest in Eyes". In 2002, Hai Yan's "What Can I Do to Save You, My Lover" was adapted into a TV series, for which he won the Beijing TV Chunyan Award for Best Screenplay. In 2004, he won the Best Screenplay Award at the China TV Golden Eagle Festival for editing the TV series of the same name adapted from "Jade Guanyin"; in the same year, he was selected into the "Forbes China Celebrity List" at No. 62. In 2005, he was ranked 100th on the "Forbes China Celebrity List". In 2006, he ranked 16th on the first rich list of Chinese writers with a royalty income of 3.8 Million yuan. In 2007, he once again ranked 17th on the second rich list of Chinese writers. In 2008, he won the Most Influential Person Award at the "National Drama Festival - 30 Years of Echoes"; in the same year, he ranked 20th on the 3rd Chinese Writers Rich List. In 2009, he won the Influential Cultural Figure Award of the "Sina Internet Festival 60th Anniversary". In 2010, Hai Yan won the title of "2009 Chinese Cultural Figure" for lifetime achievement. In 2013, he ranked 4th among screenwriters in the 8th China Rich Writers List.
