About This Novel
This book selects three works from Zhou Meisen's novella "National Sorrow", "Sea of Evil" and "Military Song". "National Memorial" describes the difficult choices made by a Kuomintang army under tight siege when faced with a desperate situation. The difficult choices distort individual lives, thus interpreting a tragic and solemn tragedy of a soldier. "Military Song" describes the good and evil of human nature exposed by a group of Chinese prisoners of war who were imprisoned by the Japanese army in coal mines with extremely harsh conditions in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War when they secretly planned a prison break riot... "Sea of Evil" describes an incestuous love story between a nephew and his aunt against the background of the troubled times of the Republic of China, revealing the destruction caused by material and carnal desires on people. Zhou Meisen's works often place people in inhuman environments such as disasters and difficulties, causing people to lose the cloak of civilization layer by layer, exposing the good and evil in human nature.
