About This Novel

From February 7 to 23, 2014, the 22nd Winter Olympics came to an end in Sochi, Russia, but some of the scenes kept revolving in my mind. I'm not a sports fan, and I don't intend to comment on the various events. However, the outstanding artistic performances at the opening and closing ceremonies of this Winter Olympics left a deep impression on me, and I am still amazed by them to this day. They confirm a nation's sincere love and conscious inheritance of its own culture. The rich humanistic essence contained in the two ceremonies before and after cannot but attract the attention of all viewers. They once again prove that the reason why the Russians can win enough respect in the world is not with their fast horses and sabers, nor with their powerful navy or air force, nor with their so-called advanced nuclear weapons and aircraft carriers, but with their outstanding contributions in culture and technology. It is these fruits of labor that have opened the eyes of people around the world and ignited the wonder in their eyes. We know that force brings only fear to people, but culture deserves to be cherished and respected forever.
