About This Novel
It accuses the urban middle class of the evil of buying rural children to use as servants. In "Little Heart", Apin is a slave who lost his parents when he was young and was deceived and sold. In response to his "little sad heart", the whole novel trembles with a melancholy mood, and the shadow of the sinful society is projected onto the "white paper-like heart" of the child Apin.
