Reading this book for the first time. Admire the last two characters. One is the male protagonist, and the other is his later wife. Strickland had a rough life, but what did that mean to him? He didn't care about this at all, so he couldn't hear his complaints and self-pity at all! His life is only used to do one thing - follow his heart, not force or rebel. His only mission is to follow himself, and that's all he does. Success is not his goal! At the end of his life, he may have seen a flash of inspiration. At that moment, he gained the meaning of his coming to this world, and he was very satisfied! Atta should be an ordinary woman who is illiterate and doesn't understand what art is. He couldn't be called in love with Strickland, could he? But she was loyal to him. Just because he was her husband, she had no hesitation and was willing to sacrifice herself, her children and her life to be with him and the God of Death.
