About This Novel

"Patio" is a notebook-style novel with a total of twelve chapters. The story begins in Xingrenli in 1866 and ends with the major transformation of Sanli in the 21st century. The novel takes the love and family stories of the protagonists Su Ye and Xu Jingmo as the main line, takes the historical changes of Shanghai Shikumen as the background, and Shanghai real estate development as the auxiliary line. It intersperses the descriptions of twelve Shikumen in Shanghai with different styles and the stories of many women in different eras related to them.
