About This Novel

The protagonist Meursault is cold by nature and indifferent to everything, even the death of his mother. Later, Meursault was sentenced to death for accidentally shooting an Arab, but he still didn't care. Instead, the interrogator insisted that he was a ruthless devil who deliberately killed people because he did not shed tears at his mother's funeral, and did not investigate the case itself at all. Meursault has always looked at the world like an outsider, and was eventually forced to destruction by society.

The word bystander.

Like. When I first clicked in, I thought he was a person who sees through the gray areas of the world. He understands everything but doesn't speak out easily. When I came in, I realized that he was a person with low emotional intelligence and ignored everything. It seemed that he was not from this world, but there are people who seem to be from this world. This person is probably confused at most. But still, I have to say it's good.

Between people, right and wrong can be argued, but indifference leaves people helpless.

Is there really such a person in the world? The author is obviously describing an emotional person, but why is he such an indifferent person? Even after the death of his mother, his mood is not as low and sad as that of his mother's friends. It clearly has nothing to do with him, but he doesn't explain it. Do you really want to live like this and have nothing to do with the world?

It feels like the protagonist doesn't care about anything and is very casual about his life and career.

Are all living beings suffering?

How should a person live when he neither believes in God nor reason? When people around us come and go in a hurry, saying things that do not resonate with us, how should we listen to ourselves?

I don't understand it a bit, okay, I don't understand it overall.

It feels like the male protagonist is involved in his life like an outsider from the beginning. Whether it is his attitude towards the death of his mother or his attitude towards his girlfriend Mary wanting to marry him, there is always a feeling that it has nothing to do with "me". Including his subsequent trial. I think there are two kinds of "outsiders" I saw in the book. One is the male protagonist who has no feelings about life. The other is the judge and the person who gave testimony during the trial of the male protagonist. They feel that the case has nothing to do with them but they have to testify. In my opinion, I don't know what the relationship between his murder and his attitude towards the death of his mother is. However, when the male protagonist was in prison at the end, and the trial results came out, it was a bit vague, and there was a feeling that he was finally no longer an outsider in his life. The author's last point is rather in-depth. Anyway, I don't understand it very well. Please give me some guidance. 🤗🤗🤗
