The Roaring Wind (commemorative Collector's Edition)
by Lin Yutang
About This Novel
This book is the sequel to Lin Yutang's "Smoke in Beijing". It is called "Lin Yutang's Trilogy" together with "Smoke in Beijing" and "The Zhumen". It can be said to be one of his masterpieces of novels. The New York Times hailed it as China's "Gone with the Wind". During the Anti-Japanese War, the war was like a big storm, and the autumn wind swept away the fate of everyone like fallen leaves. The novel is set in China (Beiping, Shanghai, and Wuhan) during the Anti-Japanese War. It tells the legendary experience of a beautiful woman with a strange life experience in troubled times, and the story of her finally stepping out of her narrow self, transcending personal love, and sublimating her life in a fiery patriotic atmosphere. At the same time, this book also epically expresses the painful and great sublimation of the national spirit when "the Chinese nation has reached its most dangerous moment".

good
Boya's death shows that Dany's love is too big and inappropriate.
I haven't read it yet!
Don't like Dany, can't understand Dany
Boya actually died in the end...
Lao Peng is the author incarnate?
I just finished reading the first half of the book, and I wonder what the fate of the descendants of the three families will be.
A very famous book.
