This book tells the story of the troubled life of Kawabe Akatsuki, the daughter of the talented ukiyo-e painter Kawabe Akusasai. After Xiao Zhai's death, the balance that the Kawababe family had barely maintained was broken. Xiaocui's half-brother Zhou Lang was given away as an adopted son when he was young.
