This book is the winner of the 5th Mao Dun Literature Award and is one of the Tea Man trilogy. This is China's first full-length novel reflecting tea culture. The story takes place in Hangzhou, the capital of green tea. The protagonists are Hang Jiuzhai, Hang Tianzui and the three sons and two daughters born to Hang Tianzui, the three generations of Wangyou Tea House. They have participated in the whole process of the rise and fall of Chinese tea in various capacities and in different ways. During this period, the fate of the nation, family and individuals were complicated and ups and downs, and the interests of the tea house were closely related to the interests of Chinese tea for hundreds of years. The novel therefore outlines a long scroll of the fate of Chinese tea people in recent and modern history.
