This book is an anthology of plays written by Xiong Foxi, including "Spring in Shanghai" and "Patriotic Heart". "Spring in Shanghai" tells the story of the national capitalist Wang Ziming, who hesitated to leave Shanghai on the eve of liberation and go to Taiwan or Hong Kong. He finally stayed in Shanghai due to his reluctance to leave Shanghai and the company he founded, and the persuasion of his children. After liberation, with the support of the government, he overcame difficulties and developed production and gave the factory a new life. However, he still had concerns and resistance to socialist transformation. Later, after being educated through his son's joining the army and the "Five Antis" movement, he took the initiative to apply for a public-private partnership and invested in the socialist transformation of industry and commerce.
