About This Novel
In 1948, Bi Jian, the intelligence section chief of the Northeast Bureau's Social Department, spent almost all of his life searching for a spy codenamed "Old Man." In order to avoid pursuit, the "old man" turned into another businessman, hiding his name and living in fear. In this lifelong "cat-and-mouse game", both of them met their lovers, got married and had children. The lover of the "old man" is also a well-trained intelligence agent. Due to instructions from his superiors, he pretended to be his wife, and the two came together. As fate would have it, Bi Jian and the "old man's" lover are sisters who have been separated for many years. After the sisters recognized each other, by chance, the identity of the "old man" was exposed, and he eventually committed suicide.

The writing is good. Although the theme is an anti-special story, it also shows the historical process of the decades before and after the liberation of New China. It is worth reading. It's just a pity that there is a charge after ten chapters, so I can't read it carefully. I can only follow the introduction and understand it.
