Cherries on Pomegranate Tree
by Li Er
About This Novel
"Cherrys on the Pomegranate Tree" is Li Er's masterpiece novel. "A person, as long as he is not blind or deaf, will see and hear a series of "tragedies and comedies" happening in rural China. They do not happen "elsewhere", and they are not just "rural stories." Whether you live in the city or in the countryside, as long as you do not live on the moon, those "tragedies and comedies" will greatly affect your life, your current and future life, unless you think you have no future." "Cherrys on the Pomegranate Tree" is Li Er's work on contemporary rural themes. The novel's language is as diverse as flowers and trees, vivid and humorous, and the characters have distinctive personalities. It is known as an allegory of Chinese rural society. It won the first "Chinese Book Media Award" and the film of the same name adapted from this work was shortlisted for the main competition unit of the 34th Moscow International Film Festival. German Chancellor Merkel sent the German version of "Cherrys on the Pomegranate Tree" to Chinese leaders, and talked to Li Er by name.

Out of curiosity, I wanted to see what "a series of tragedies and comedies happened in rural China" was, but it turned out that it was not actually my favorite content. However, it is still interesting to see the final discovery, like looking through a window and seeing the shadows in the sun and the story behind the shadows.
