He once served as Chairman of the China Film Association, Vice Chairman of the Jilin Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee for the Advancement of Democracy, and Chief Director of Changchun Film Studio. This book records the author's artistic life in the form of a memoir, including descriptions of the creative pursuits and behind-the-scenes stories of "The Founding Ceremony of the People's Republic of China", "Chongqing Incident", and "Resisting U. S. Aggression and Aid Korea". These films all played an important role in the author's artistic career.
