About This Novel

Wang Shiwei (1906-1947), formerly known as Shiwei, had the pen names Shiwei and Shuhan. Born in Huangchuan County, Henan Province. He once studied at Peking University, but later got into trouble because of his writing. The following year after he wrote two articles, "Politician, Artist" and "Wild Lily", he was arrested. In 1947, he was "wrongfully executed in a war environment." This is an unjust, false and wrong case in the history of Chinese literature. This book collects four of her local novels: "Grandma Yang Wu", "The Spirit of Destruction", "The Story of Chen Laosi", "Little Chang'er and Canned Lychees". These works reflect the author's sincerity to the motherland and love for his hometown. Wang Shiwei also used the form of essays to sharply reveal some of the darker aspects of what he saw and heard, such as "My Criticism of Comrade Luo Mai's Speech at the Mobilization Meeting for Rectification and Inspection Workers", "Politician and Artist", etc.
