Sitting and Forgetting the Mountains and Rivers
by Liu Jia
About This Novel
This book is a collection of historical and cultural essays divided into three volumes, including thirty-four articles written by the author in recent years. The first series of "Reading Mountains and Rivers". From the wetlands of the Yellow River to the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River, from the wild ferries on the river banks to the ancient passes, this collection mainly contains articles written by the author while traveling to the mountains and historic sites of the motherland. Most of them are from the perspective of history, humanities and geography and phenology. They talk about the past and the present and quote from other sources. It is a journey of scenery and culture on the tip of the pen. The second volume is "Exploring the Secret Paths of History". The article traces back the history of Jingchu, nostalgic for the Shang civilization, interprets the human-faced fish pattern elements of Banpo culture, deciphers the legend of the "daughter country" of witch culture, integrates the author's archaeological experience, quotes from classics, and talks eloquently. The third volume of "Piaoxiao Yunshi". The articles in this collection are highly lyrical, and some explore the evolution of classic literary images in Chinese classical literature and the changes in social trends they reflect. Some appreciate the timeless charm contained in classic poems and elicit the author's thoughts on the implications of oriental classical aesthetics.
