About This Novel
Wu Yu (1874-1939), courtesy name Youling, was born in Huayang, Sichuan. He once published an article in "New Youth" that severely criticized the old ethics and Confucianism. It had a great influence during the "May Fourth Movement" period. His "Wu Yu Wen Lu", "Hu Shi Wen Cun" and "Du Xiu Wen Cun" were three of the most influential classic texts during the New Culture Movement. <BR>This book collects almost all of Wu's writings currently available except for diaries, including "Wen Lu", "Continuation", "Bie Lu", poems and letters, etc. It is carefully edited, organized and published in order to show the ideological style and mental journey of this Sichuan No. 54 General who echoes Hu Shi and Chen Duxiu.
