Lin Changmin Collection
by Edited By Chen Xueyong And Yu Kui
About This Novel
Lin Changmin, courtesy name Zongmeng, the father of Lin Huiyin, was a famous diplomat, educator, and calligrapher in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. Like Lin Huiyin, Lin Changmin never published his own collection of essays during his lifetime. This "Lin Changmin Collection" was jointly compiled by Mr. Chen Xueyong and Ms. Yu Kui, and includes all Lin Changmin's works currently available in the world. It consists of poems, inscriptions, prefaces and postscripts, current essays, diaries, letters and translations. It is also the first collection of Lin Changmin's works in the world. The published documents among them are all painstakingly combed and sorted out from historical materials that have been dusty for many years. These documents mainly reflect the appearance of China's ideological and cultural fields in the early 20th century from one side. What is particularly valuable is that this collection presents for the first time all of Lin Changmin's European travel diaries and all letters to Lin Huiyin, Liang Qichao, Liang Sicheng and others collected by Liang Zaibing's family. It uses first-hand materials to truly reproduce the details of Lin Huiyin's early life and mental outlook, and at the same time has strong readability and literary value.
