About This Novel
This book is a collection of essays in memory of Professor Chen Jiexian. Professor Chen Jiexian (1932-2019) was admitted to the History Department of National Taiwan University in 1953 and received a master's degree from the Institute of History of National Taiwan University in 1959. He was later invited to join the visiting scholar program of Harvard University and served as the director of the History Department of National Taiwan University and the director of the Institute of History. He devoted his life to the research, teaching and cross-strait exchanges of Qing history. This collection of commemorative essays is divided into upper and lower parts, which include commemorative essays and historical essays written by Mr. Chen's former students and academic colleagues on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
