About This Novel

"Xian Qing Ou Ji" is a so-called "Xian Shu" written by Li Yu, a scholar in the early Qing Dynasty, which combines "Zhuang Lun" with "Xian Qing". It includes lyrics and music, exercises, voice and appearance, living room, utensils and toys, drinking and food, planting, maintenance and other contents. Based on the principle of "taking the essence and discarding the dross", the editors and reviewers of this book mainly based on the Mustard Seed Garden version of "The Complete Works of Li Weng's Family" published in the eighth year of Yongzheng's reign and referred to the Yishengtang version of the tenth year of Kangxi's reign. They selected almost all the text of "Ci and Music Department" and "Exercise Department" of "Xianqing Ouji", most of the text of "Living Room Department", and a small amount of text from other parts, about 100,000 words, accounting for one-half of the total length of the book. In order to facilitate readers' reading and understanding, some difficult-to-understand words in the book, especially allusions, terminology, names of people and places, etc., Are annotated as detailed as possible.
