About This Novel

This set of Dickinson's complete works is the result of twenty years of hard work by the translator, Mr. Pu Long. Previously, Professor Pu devoted a year of research on Dickinson at Harvard University and Dickinson's hometown as a Fulbright scholar in 1994-95. After returning to China, he continued to delve into multiple editions of Dickinson's poetry collections and foreign academic materials. Many poetry translations were revised repeatedly and drafted several times. This set of complete works is a complete compilation of the two versions of Dickinson's poems edited by Johnson and Franklin. The differences between the two versions are explained with notes. In addition, Mr. Pu also researched the writing background of each poem in detail and appended it to the corresponding poem. The fourth volume is the translation of the selected letters of Dickinson edited by Johnson, which contains the most valuable letters of the poetess throughout her creative career. In addition, Mr. Pu also attaches background research after each translation. Whether for lovers of poetry and literature or for scholars interested in studying Dickinson, this set of Dickinson's complete works is a rare treasure.
