This article tells the story of a French naturalist who went to the United States to participate in a scientific expedition. When he was preparing to return to France, he was invited to board a destroyer to participate in the expulsion of the rumored "monster" at sea. However, instead of driving away the "monster", the naturalist and others were captured by the "monster". In fact, the so-called monster was actually a submarine that no one knew about at the time.
