This book is not bad
Against spiritual dogmatism! Faith is something that can make your heart feel rich and peaceful! Rather than something packed into a box!
I disagree with the book on ancient Chinese thought.
I read two volumes of The Christian and Lao Tzu because I read the Tao Te Ching. First of all, I think the author has an open-minded view on the understanding of Christian doctrine, which reflects the problem of collective worship in the Western church-everyone has his own opinion. Secondly, when commenting on Lao Tzu, saying it is negative is conspiracy theory. In fact, this is not the case. The Tao Te Ching does advocate inaction, but this book uses inaction to describe a complete ideological system. In terms of completeness, it is at least equal to the entire Christianity, and it is much simpler than the teachings of Christianity. So what is the use of presenting a complete system of thought to the reader? I think it provides readers with a new perspective on the world, and further improves the state of mind, that is, neither arrogance nor impatience. To be honest, Mr. Lin Yutang's views on Christianity were not acquired through his improved state of mind. Impetuous people cannot do this type of thinking. Everyone has different ways of improving their mood, and Laozi's thoughts can still help the right person.
Pay tribute to the classics
Highly recommended!
Worth reading, great book.
I haven't read much of the previous one, but I have to say that Mr. Lin's work is very good.
Mr. Lin's agility and wisdom are worth learning from. I will use mixed words to express a few sentences. Observing and gaining insight into things often requires long-term commitment! And sexual sensitivity can often penetrate the surface and get to the core of the essence! If you believe in the intellectual power of English, the exhaustive exploration of essentials, and the spiritual directness of others, this book is bound to be extraordinary!
It's a good book
Mr. Lin's classic work is one that you will never tire of reading.
