About This Novel

"Selected Notes on Ancient Chinese Literary Works: Pre-Qin, Two Han, Wei, and Jin Dynasties (Third Edition)" was originally the textbook "Selected Ancient Chinese Literary Works" for the ancient Chinese literature course of China Central Radio and Television University (now the Open University of China) published by our publisher. This book will be used in conjunction with the "Outline of the History of Chinese Literature" revised and published by our publisher in 2016. The complete set of this book is divided into three volumes: the first volume "Part of Pre-Qin, Han, Wei and Jin"; the middle volume "Part of Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, Song, Liao, Jin and Yuan"; the second volume "Part of Yuan (continued) Ming and Qing Dynasties". This volume collects representative works of important writers in the pre-Qin, Han, Wei, and Jin dynasties, and especially includes some important ancient literary treatises, such as "Classics and Essays" and so on. These works are arranged according to the author's era; works by the same author are classified in the order of poetry, lyrics, music, essays, novels and dramas. This is basically consistent with the historical schedule of ancient literature course teaching plans. In order to facilitate readers' reading, the annotations are based on clearing up the text and are as concise and to the point as possible; in some places, several explanations are selected for reference. Only a brief introduction to the writer's life story is given, generally using popular viewpoints.
